Role OverviewThe Grants Writer III is responsible for assisting the Grants Department in all functions of grants-related fundraising. Specific duties include prospecting new funding sources, writing and editing, budget preparation, and ensuring timely and accurate development and submission of proposals.

The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field; master’s degree preferred; and at least five years of experience in grant writing. Candidate must have excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills with ability to work professionally and efficiently in a time-sensitive environment.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public health, journalism, business, or related field
- At least five years of writing experience
- Program development and project management experience
- Experience interpreting funding opportunity guidelines and preparing proposals for submission to major funding agencies
- Ability to develop budgets, including formulation of salaries, costs, and percentages.
- Ability to organize a proposal effectively and efficiently with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with federal proposal submission portals, including Grants.gov, HRSA Electronic Handbooks, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail, outstanding customer service, and strong communication skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents (proposal requests/legal documents)
- Ability to handle several tasks under time pressures and competing deadlines
