Role OverviewThe Monitor is the entry-level position that works to provide security of the program premises, and safety for program clients, visitors, and employees. The role requires driving ability and involves patrolling premises, monitoring clients, and conducting room checks.
What You Will Do
The Monitor will perform duties such as shelter security, shelter safety, asset protection, and client/participant support. This includes monitoring shelter entrance, screening bags and persons entering shelter, patrolling premises, and completing written reports and incidents logs.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients. A high school diploma or GED, current California driver's license, and clean driving record are preferred qualifications.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
- Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients
- Within 30 days of hire, must successfully complete VOALA safety training
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current California driver's license and clean driving record
- Database familiarity
- Clean driving record to be insurable by VOALA insurance
