Role OverviewLead or review utility, transmission, distribution, cross-border power, grid-modernization, smart-grid, and storage assessments to convert system constraints into feasible, financeable implementation pathways. Diagnose system needs using demand, reliability, loss, generation, network, operating, regulatory, and institutional evidence. Evaluate alternatives, system models, sizing/dispatch, lifecycle cost, resilience, operating model, procurement, cybersecurity, implementation sequence, and capacity-building needs.
What You Will Do
Diagnose system needs, evaluate alternatives, define project finance, climate/resilience, country regulation, suppliers, safeguards, and stakeholder requirements. Independently challenge models, assumptions, vendor claims, tariff/off-take logic, and implementation readiness.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires senior utility, power-system planning, transmission/distribution, grid-modernization, storage, microgrid, interconnection, or system-operations experience. Evidence of using or reviewing power-flow, production-cost, dispatch, reliability, storage, tariff, or lifecycle-cost analysis is required.
Requirements
- Senior utility, power-system planning, transmission/distribution, grid-modernization, storage, microgrid, interconnection, or system-operations experience
- Evidence of using or reviewing power-flow, production-cost, dispatch, reliability, storage, tariff, or lifecycle-cost analysis
- Emerging-market, island-grid, or cross-border system experience
- Ability to produce concise, defensible written analysis in English
- Ability to work across technical, commercial, financial, safeguards, institutional, and implementation interfaces
Benefits
- Competitive proposal pricing
- Potential for Indo-Pacific travel
- Opportunity to work on grid modernization and energy storage projects
