Role OverviewThe Grocery/Dept Leader is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supervising all functions, duties, and activities for the department.

Responsibilities include adhering to food safety regulations, training department associates, planning and supervising the inventory process, monitoring and controlling expenses, and implementing sales promotions.

Requirements
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO)
- Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions
- Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews
- Monitor and control expenses for the department
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Implement the period promotional plan for the department
- Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation
- Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties
