Role OverviewThe Groundskeeper will perform semi-skilled work in the maintenance, care, and modification of facility grounds and landscapes. This includes operating electrical and gasoline-powered groundskeeping equipment and using small hand and power tools. The position also performs maintenance on groundskeeping equipment and makes minor repairs as directed.
What You Will Do
The primary responsibilities of the Groundskeeper include operating and maintaining various types of mowing and edging equipment, performing maintenance on equipment, and performing tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging around trees, plant beds, sidewalks, and parking lots.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in groundskeeping, including knowledge of methods and materials used in planting, cultivating, and trimming various types of trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, and grasses.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen [18] years of age
- Prefer one year of experience in groundskeeping
- Prefer prior experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical or gasoline powered lawn and turf equipment
- Prefer prior experience in the use and proper disposal of chemicals used in groundskeeping, horticulture, and turf management
- Must have valid KS driver’s license and meet Bluestem driving requirements
