Role Overview

The Public Utilities Commissions of Ohio (PUCO) regulates providers of all types of utility services. The PUCO employs a professional staff that includes engineers, economists, attorneys, and safety inspectors. The Transportation Department's mission is to facilitate safe and secure commercial transportation on public highways, railroads, and transportation facilities.

What You Will Do

Conduct and evaluate complex hazardous material transporter inspections, conduct unannounced compliance reviews, and prepare reports on inspections, investigations, educational training, and other related data.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have 48 months of training or experience in commercial transportation safety practices and procedures, and 12 months of training or experience in hazardous materials regulation compliance/enforcement.

Requirements

  • 48 months of training or experience in commercial transportation safety practices & procedures
  • 12 months of training or experience in hazardous materials regulation compliance/enforcement
  • valid driver’s license
