Role OverviewThalle is a heavy civil construction company seeking an HDPE and Mechanical Pipe Fitter to install and fit HDPE and mechanical piping systems. The role involves working with HDPE pipe ranging from 8” to 22” diameter and performing butt fusion and/or electrofusion welding. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with crew members and other trades to meet project schedules and production goals.
What You Will Do
Install, lay out, align, fit, and assemble HDPE and mechanical piping systems in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and applicable standards. Perform butt fusion and/or electrofusion welding of HDPE pipe using approved fusion equipment, procedures, and manufacturer requirements.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience installing and fitting HDPE and/or mechanical piping systems on heavy civil, utility, industrial, municipal, or infrastructure projects. They will also have experience working with HDPE pipe in the 8”–22” size range and with HDPE butt fusion and/or electrofusion. HDPE fusion certification from a recognized manufacturer or training provider is preferred or required based on project needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an HDPE Pipe Fitter, Mechanical Pipe Fitter, Pipe Fitter, or similar construction position
- Demonstrated experience installing and fitting HDPE and/or mechanical piping systems on heavy civil, utility, industrial, municipal, or infrastructure projects
- Experience working with HDPE pipe in the 8”–22” size range
- Experience with HDPE butt fusion and/or electrofusion
- HDPE fusion certification from a recognized manufacturer or training provider (such as McElroy or equivalent) preferred or required based on project needs
