Role OverviewThe Head Coach will be a personal example of high moral character and superior teaching standards, promoting good sportsmanship and supporting player academic and moral success. The Coach will work with faculty and staff to support the Board's obligation to students and staff. The Coach will be responsible for the quality, effectiveness, and validity of any oral or written release to local media.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities include promoting the sport within and outside the school, maintaining good public relations, presenting information to news media, and maintaining discipline and morale. The Coach will also delegate duties, supervise implementation, and analyze staff effectiveness.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have superior knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport, be able to organize and supervise the baseball program, and have a thorough knowledge of Athletic Policies approved by the Gaston County Schools' Board of Education.
Requirements
- Previous successful coaching experience in baseball
- Certification as a teacher by a state education agency
- Employment as a classroom teacher by the Gaston County Board of Education
