Role OverviewThe Head Football Athletic Trainer will manage the health care of student-athletes participating in NCAA Division I sports at Duke University. The role involves preventing and caring for athletic injuries and illnesses, evaluating injuries, and communicating with the athletic medicine team, physicians, coaches, and parents. The trainer will also educate and counsel student-athletes about injuries and illnesses, maintain documentation, and perform additional duties as determined by the Executive Director of Athletic Medicine.
What You Will Do
Preventing and caring for athletic injuries and illnesses, evaluating athletic injuries, communicating with the athletic medicine team, physicians, coaches, and parents, educating and counseling student-athletes about injuries and illnesses, maintaining documentation.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine or a related field, National Athletic Trainers Association certification, and at least five years of athletic training experience with football. The candidate should also be familiar with NCAA governing rules and have excellent communication and documentation skills.
