Job Description
The State of Connecticut, Department of Developmental Services (DDS) - Southbury Training School is seeking a Head Nurse. The successful candidate will provide administrative and clinical supervision of professional nurses, paraprofessionals and other staff, and will be responsible for direct nursing care of individuals or performing specialized professional nursing work in the areas of community or therapeutic nursing.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing may be substituted for one (1) year of the General Experience
  • IV certified
  • Experience with all types of feeding tubes
  • Experience with tracheostomy care
  • Experience with oxygen therapy
  • Experience with wound care including wound vac treatments
  • Experience administering medications and treatments at a large volume
