Head Swim Coach - North Royalton YMCA

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and human relations skills.
• Swim Experience is required.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is required and can be provided by the YMCA after hire.
• YMCA Principles of Competitive Swimming and Diving is required after hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire.
• Y of the USA swim instructor certifications (Principles of competitive swimming & Diving) completion within 30 days of hire (prior preferred).
• USA swimming instructor certifications (Coaching 101 & 201) completion within 30 days of hire (prior preferred).
• Working knowledge of rules and regulations of the sport.
• Must have knowledge of and be able to demonstrate correct swim techniques and strokes.
• Have a general knowledge of anatomy, and exercise physiology, and kinesiology/ body kinematics.
• Must have general understanding of child development, and physiology
• Ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
• Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect.
