Role Overview

Join Team Duval as a Health Educator 1, working to protect, promote, and improve the health of our community. This is advanced-level work performing or supervising a variety of tasks under limited supervision. The job requires extensive knowledge of counseling techniques and social work principles and practices.

What You Will Do

Develop, coordinate, and deliver community-wide health education initiatives focused on the Children's Medical Home priority across diverse community and clinical settings. Plan and implement evidence-based educational workshops, create culturally and linguistically appropriate educational materials, and conduct surveys with families to determine whether their child meets medical home criteria.

Requirements

  • At least one year of academic or professional experience working in the community providing health education, promoting health, developing program activities, and any special events, providing resources and referrals.
  • Experience with engaging in community outreach, handling setup/breakdown duties, and transporting outreach materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license.
