Role OverviewThe Health Information Management (HIM) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and security of patient health information. This role involves maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, managing the electronic medical record (EMR) system, and supporting the overall efficiency of the HIM department.
What You Will Do
The essential responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining accurate and complete patient health records, processing requests for medical records, managing the EMR system, conducting regular audits of health records, and assisting in the development and implementation of HIM policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is required.
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is a plus.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an inpatient rehabilitation facility.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), and healthcare regulations is essential.
