Job Description
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) is seeking a Hearing Assistant to support the Bureau of State Hearings (BSH) in handling appeals from individuals who disagree with decisions made about their public benefits. The ideal candidate will have experience in processing benefit claims under appeal or in a position involving research, written and oral business communications, and public contact.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate personal computer and applicable software applications
  • Ability to respond to telephone and email inquiries from stakeholders
  • Ability to apply established rules, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Knowledge of general office practices including keyboarding, data entry, and telephone skills
