Role OverviewThe Texas Workforce Commission is looking for attorneys or law school graduates to serve as Hearing Officers for unemployment hearings. The role requires a working knowledge of court proceedings, including taking testimony, entering exhibits, and writing decisions based on law, policy, and precedents. Work can be performed from any of the listed Texas cities.
What You Will Do
Conduct formal hearings on appeals involving claims for unemployment insurance, conduct telephone hearings, confer with agency personnel, question witnesses, and render decisions affirming, modifying, or reversing previous rulings.
