Role Overview

The High School Global History Teacher will provide instruction to high school students, demonstrating planning and preparation, instructional skills, and effective classroom management. The teacher must be motivated to engage in continuous professional development and work collaboratively with other teachers within their department and across content areas.

What You Will Do

The teacher will develop unit and lesson plans, integrate technology resources, and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students. They will also use various instructional strategies to engage students and promote learning, and continuously monitor students' progress and provide meaningful feedback.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will be a certified or on-the-pathway-to-certification History teacher with experience in teaching Global and/or US History. They will be able to demonstrate an understanding of and skills relevant to the subject area, and be motivated to engage in continuous professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • At least 2 years prior teaching experience in high school
  • NYS certification in teaching preferred
  • Demonstrated success working in non-traditional and/or urban school settings
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with educational technology

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000 annually
  • Minimum to no travel required
