Role OverviewTxDOT is looking for a Transportation Maintenance Tech I or II in the Paris District. The position is at the Hunt County Maintenance Section located in Greenville, TX. The successful candidate will assist in identifying, repairing, and installing signs, delineators, and other equipment. They will also provide support to local law enforcement officials at accident sites and assist stranded motorists.
What You Will Do
The Transportation Maintenance Tech I or II will perform routine transportation operations or maintenance support work, including roadway maintenance and repair, light and heavy equipment operation, and traffic control. They will also help the public during emergency situations and assist in inspecting maintenance contract construction methods and workmanship.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The successful candidate will have some knowledge of methods, procedures, equipment, and materials used in intermodal transportation engineering construction and maintenance work. They will also have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and maintain a safe working relationship.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license at the time of application
- Commercial Class 'A' Driver's License with an 'N' Endorsement or have obtained a CDL 'A' License within 180 calendar days from date of employment
- No education required
- TMT I = No experience required
- TMT II = 1 year experience in transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, construction inspection, heavy equipment operation, or related work experience
