Job Description
Highway Patrol Electronic Technician 2 installs, repairs, and tests complex electronic and communication equipment in Ohio State Highway Patrol facilities and vehicles, and assists with inventory control and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Independently install, repair, test, and/or perform preventative maintenance on complex electronic and communication equipment
  • Comply with Federal Communication Commission (FCC), state, and other regulations related to communications and other electronic equipment
  • Perform basic level testing of network service connectivity for radio-related systems and configuration of mobile data computer terminals to complete repair of peripheral devices
  • Install and/or program routers and other network-related equipment for radio-related systems, radio template configuration and programming, in-vehicle video systems, and public address systems
  • Travel throughout district to perform regular or emergency work
  • Assist district and/or posts with maintaining inventory control of electronic equipment
