Role OverviewThe Ohio Department of Transportation, District Six, is now accepting applications for Seasonal Highway Technicians for the following counties: Delaware, Franklin, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway, and Union. The role involves snow and ice duties, fleet readiness inspections, general facilities maintenance, pothole patching, and roadway remediation crew duties.
What You Will Do
Snow and Ice Duties on the roadway 8-12 hours, fleet readiness inspections (pre/post) and washing of the Snow and Ice Equipment, greasing equipment used for snow and ice, blade changing, General facilities maintenance, Pothole patching and roadway remediation crew duties, Assist with sign installation along 2, 4 and multi-lane routes, Articulated loader operation to load single and tandem axle dump trucks for snow and ice operations, Assist with the maintenance of traffic for roadway emergencies, Highway beautification and litter removal when needed.

Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License at the appropriate level
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions
- Ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary
- 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment
