Role OverviewThis position is a seasonal snow and ice technician with the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 12. The role involves performing snow and ice duties on the roadway, fleet readiness inspections, and general facilities maintenance. The technician will also assist with sign installation, pothole patching, and roadway remediation crew duties. Additionally, they will operate articulated loaders to load single and tandem axle dump trucks for snow and ice operations.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities of this position include performing snow and ice duties on the roadway, conducting fleet readiness inspections, washing and greasing snow and ice equipment, and assisting with sign installation and pothole patching. The technician will also be responsible for operating articulated loaders to load single and tandem axle dump trucks for snow and ice operations.

Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at the appropriate level
- Formal education in arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages, and fractions
- Ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary
- Three months of training or experience in operating basic equipment
