Role OverviewThe HIM Technician performs multiple functions within the department under general supervision, maintaining patient privacy and following HIPAA rules. Collaborates with others to complete responsibilities such as responding to requests for disclosure of protected health information and abstracting clinical information into Epic.
What You Will Do
Perform medical record analysis, prepare and submit records for audits and care gap closures, and additional duties as assigned.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, experience with electronic medical records system a plus.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s Degree preferred
- Health care license preferred
- Certification or willingness to pursue certification in Health Information Management/Medical Records preferred
- Previous experience in physician clinic and experience with Electronic Medical Record preferred
- 1 year preferred
