Role OverviewJoin our team as a Histotechnician/Histotechnologist to prepare tissue specimens for surgical pathology examination. This role involves evaluating specimens, embedding, cutting, and staining slides using automated or manual methods.
What You Will Do
Perform embedding and cutting on biopsies and large surgical specimens, follow lab policies, maintain equipment, and demonstrate clear communication with team members.

Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Histology or laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
- High School Equivalent / GED with established Histotechnician (HT) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
- 1+ years experience in a clinical histology laboratory
- Basic computer skills
- Good organizational skills
- Able to multitask
- Able to work effectively independently and with other team members
- Knowledge of standard lab policy and procedures, safety practices equipment and instrumentation
- Knowledge of principals, concepts, and methodology sufficient to perform the full spectrum of histologic preparation of specimens for microscopic evaluation
- Knowledge of staining procedures, fixatives, and preparation techniques common to histology laboratories
- Knowledge of laboratory safety including standard precautions for handling hazardous chemicals and solutions
- Knowledge of CAP/CLIA regulations as they pertain to histopathology
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists HT(ASCP)
