Role OverviewThe Homemaker/Companion provides essential non-medical support services to clients in their homes to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
What You Will Do
Provide companionship, socialization, and emotional support to clients; assist with meal planning and preparation; perform light housekeeping duties; assist with errands and escort to appointments.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 30 pounds; ability to stand and walk for extended periods; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous experience in home care, housekeeping, or elder care setting (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the service area
- Successful completion and certificate submission of the Executive Office of Aging & Independence Homemaker training component of the Personal and Home Care Aide State Training program (PHCAST)
