HOSPICE AIDE - Field Work Required

Requirements

• MUST have CURRENT MA CNA or HHA Certification.
• Competitive pay based on experience.
• Will pay your way through an LPN program or associate-level RN program.
• Direct patient care within the parameters of current CNA license and in accordance with Hospice Aide competency checklist.
• Provide personal care services per plan of care.
• Use and maintain special equipment and supplies appropriately.
• Inform supervisor/RN case manager of any changes in patient’s condition or family situation.
• Recognize need for guidance, accept and or seek assistance.
• Accompany patient outside the home when directed.
• Report concerns of patient abuse or neglect immediately to RN/case manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patient by performing household services that promote the comfort, safety, and hygiene of the patient per plan of care.
• Assist in meeting the nutritional needs and dietary requirements of the patient by performing the following per plan of care: meal preparation, offering fluids and nutrition, assisting with feedings.
• Assist with other certain procedures per plan of care such as: applying certain prescription creams and ointments, assisting with care of colostomy and appliances, or assisting with use of special devices such as a Hoyer Lift.
