Role Overview

The Volunteer and Bereavement Coordinator is an integral member of the hospice team, responsible for recruitment, coordination, and program administration of all hospice volunteer and bereavement services.

What You Will Do

Lead and improve the Hospice Volunteer and Bereavement Programs, recruit and retain volunteers, provide supervision and coaching, and manage volunteer program compliance.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Healthcare Administration, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospice, healthcare, volunteer management, bereavement services, or a related human services field
  • Experience recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting volunteers
  • Knowledge of hospice philosophy, end-of-life care, grief and bereavement principles, and patient/family-centered care
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health records or volunteer management databases
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel throughout the service area
  • Current car insurance, which meets minimum standards
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
