Host

Hosts are responsible for greeting customers in a friendly manner and organizing table seating based on reservations. Work is split between indoor and outdoor locations. Located in downtown Tampa, the Straz offers flexible hours, event-based schedules including evenings and weekends, and a team-based work environment.

What You Will Do

Welcome and greet arriving guests, seat guests at tables, ensure flow of operations, and acknowledge departing guests in a friendly manner. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests. Handle cash accurately. Maintain clean service and dining areas.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This is a great position for someone looking to get started in the hospitality field. Prior experience is preferred but not required. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Requirements

• Ability to work with a schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays.
• Possess basic math skills and have ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Customer service skills and experience.
• Be able to work in a stand up for position for long periods of time (minimum 5 hours).
• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience as a Host in a full-service, high-volume restaurant preferred, but not required.
