Job Description
Role Overview

As a Hostler, you will be responsible for moving vehicles, trailers, and flatbeds to and from the dock and yard area to assist with loading, unloading, and yard utilization in a safe and efficient manner. You will develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times. You will manage loading and unloading freight by hand or by using manual equipment such as hand trucks or pallet jacks or forklifts.

What You Will Do

Your main responsibilities will include developing and providing excellent customer service, managing loading and unloading freight, verifying and noting the count and condition of cargo received, recording receipts to appropriate forms and/or log books, and verifying that proper documentation is attached.

Why It Might Be a Fit

We are looking for a candidate with a valid state-issued Class C Driver's License, a minimum of 3 years of industry driving experience, and a minimum of 6 months of related experience. You should be able to read, comprehend, and complete basic checklists, forms, or other related documents, and be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Minimum 3 years industry driving experience
  • Minimum 6 months related experience
  • Valid state-issued Class C Driver's License
  • Acceptable driving record as defined by DOT regulations, TSA regulations, and Company policy
  • Forklift Driver Certification
  • DOT Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials Certification
