Role OverviewHyatt Regency Minneapolis is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join the Engineering team. This role is responsible for shift coverage including maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the safe operation of hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems. The position performs preventative maintenance and responds to guest room, public area, and back-of-house maintenance requests to provide a safe, comfortable, and exceptional guest experience.
What You Will Do
Perform daily inspections of hotel facilities and equipment, diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building-related issues, and complete preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and operational equipment. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments, repair and maintain doors, locks, lighting fixtures, appliances, furniture, walls, ceilings, flooring, and fixtures, and monitor and maintain boilers, chillers, water systems, generators, fire life-safety systems, and other building equipment.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance, facilities, building engineering, or hotel maintenance experience preferred
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and building maintenance issues
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using maintenance tools, equipment, and computerized work-order systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions
