Role OverviewThe Housing Coordinator works with consumers, families, providers, landlords, and other staff to coordinate, manage, and implement housing tools, resources, and inventories to ensure that consumers secure safe and appropriate housing.
What You Will Do
Identify potential units in subsidized public and/or private housing, coordinate with realtors and landlords, assist clients with arranging transportation, complete and submit required housing paperwork, and ensure consumers are aware of their role and responsibilities regarding applicable subsidies.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
- One to two years experience in housing service coordination for the aging and persons with disabilities
- Experience in real estate market and negotiation a plus
- Knowledge of the Independent Living philosophy a plus
- Knowledge of community and housing resources in Connecticut, with the ability to understand and articulate multiple programs
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to keep organized and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Familiarity with the needs of multiple vulnerable populations, especially older adults and persons with disabilities
