Job Description
The New York City Department of Housing Preservation Development (HPD) is seeking a Housing Inspector to perform technical work in the inspection of dwellings and other structures for the enforcement of the Multiple Dwelling Law, Housing Maintenance Code and other related laws, rules and regulations. The role will be part of the Division of Code Enforcement (CODE) and will involve responding to complaints, preparing written reports, and performing work related to lead-based paint assessments.

Requirements

  • Performing technical work in the inspection of dwellings and other structures
  • Responding to complaints filed with 311
  • Preparing written reports of inspections
  • Performing work related to lead-based paint assessments
  • Must have and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license
  • Proficient in most Microsoft applications
