Role OverviewThe Housing Specialist will be responsible for identifying permanent housing for program participants, conducting housing assessments, and providing comprehensive case management. They will work with clients and staff to address housing-related issues and connect them with resources. The role requires a holistic, strengths-based approach to recovery and wellness.
What You Will Do
The Housing Specialist will provide guidance to clients and staff, assist with housing applications, and provide counseling when needed. They will also inspect potential housing placements, interview candidates, and advocate for participants' housing needs.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field
- Two years of comparable housing or real estate experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- One year of experience working with substance use population
- Knowledge or experience working with the homeless population
- Knowledge of strengths-based counseling, cognitive behavioral treatment, and behavior modification in practice
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work professionally and empathetically with a diverse group of clients and staff
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a broad variety of people
- Strong individual and group counseling skills
- Ability to function independently, attend to detail, and work under pressure
- Competency with computer-based programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook email, Relias, and Electronic Health Records
