Job Description
Athena Consulting is recruiting a Human Resources Generalist I. The HR Generalist I provides entry to mid-level professional HR support across multiple functional areas, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, managing help desk tickets, HRIS data management, and compliance with state and federal employment regulations. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and supervisors, delivering high-quality customer service while ensuring HR policies and procedures are consistently applied.

Requirements

  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with hiring policies and documentation requirements, including I9 verification.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee HR inquiries and closing out tickets quickly.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Assist with employee relations matters and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Process personnel actions including hires, transfers, promotions, and separations.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and HR metrics.
  • Support benefits enrollment, changes, and leave tracking (FMLA, sick, vacation, workers’ compensation).
  • Respond to routine benefits questions.
  • Assist in coordinating training sessions and professional development programs.
  • Support performance evaluation processes.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
