Role Overview

The ideal candidate will be dedicated to improving workforce performance, reducing human error, and strengthening operational excellence activities to effectively support ArcelorMittal Calvert’s business objectives. The Human Reliability Specialist will collaborate across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Process Safety, Reliability, Quality, and Leadership teams to improve human performance, organizational learning, and operational resilience.

What You Will Do

Provides support for site-wide Human Reliability and Human Performance Improvement programs. Conducts assessments to identify human performance risks and recommends improvements to reduce complexity and improve workforce effectiveness. Develops leading indicators and performance metrics to monitor human reliability effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, Human Factors, Industrial Technology, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial experience in manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, energy, mining, or other high-hazard industries
  • Knowledge of Human Reliability Analysis methods, Human Factors Engineering principles, Process Safety Management systems, and risk assessment methodologies
  • Strong technical skills in Root Cause Analysis, causal learning techniques, data analysis, performance trending, and organizational effectiveness principles
  • Experience in Process Safety Management (PSM), Reliability Engineering, Operations Leadership, Human Factors Engineering, Operational Excellence, Incident Investigation, Safety Management Systems
