Role Overview

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is seeking a Human Resources Director to join their team. The ideal candidate is a strategic, visionary, and results-oriented leader who will provide direction and guidance for all of TWC's Human Resources operations. This work involves establishing the strategic vision for the HR department, setting goals aligned with agency objectives, and developing policies and procedures that directly support the agency’s long-term mission.

What You Will Do

The Director III performs highly advanced managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning. Work involves establishing the departmental direction, strategic plan, goals, and objectives; developing policies, procedures, and guidelines; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and reviewing and approving budgets.

Requirements

  • Six years of full-time experience in the oversight and direction of an agency program; or in strategic planning and policy development and implementation, three years of which must have been in an administrative management or supervisory capacity.
  • Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
  • One year of full-time in-service TWC experience classified as a Director II with regular status will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
