Role OverviewThe Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the Human Resources Manager with day-to-day HR leadership to Plant Management of ~200+ employees at our North Vernon facility. The role serves as back-up HR Manager when necessary and is responsible for various HR-related tasks, including recruitment, employee relations, and data compilation.
What You Will Do
The Human Resources Generalist will process unemployment claims, track attendance records, complete personnel change notice forms, and conduct new-hire orientations. They will also process background checks, complete employment verification requests, and maintain employee personnel files.

They should be proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Resources, or a combination of education and 3-5+ years of work-related experience
- SHRM Certification preferred
- Minimum 2 to 4+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in an industrial setting
- Experience with Kronos, ADP or similar HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Team player with ability to build lasting productive business relationships with hourly employees, management, and peers
- Must possess a high degree of professionalism in handling confidential information
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required
- Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with a labor union preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and auditing skills required
- Critical decision maker with the ability to work independently
- Bilingual English/Spanish, required
