Job Description
Salas O'Brien is a employee-owned engineering and professional services firm that offers a people-first approach to problem solving. The Human Resources Generalist role supports the human resource function in all three offices (Rochester, Buffalo, and Schenectady, NY) and requires regular travel between offices. This is a hybrid role with four days of in-office attendance per week.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Two - three years of experience in a human resources role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of and state and federal employment laws including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, DHR, ACA, and ERISA
  • Ability to prioritize and follow up on project plans/tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, critical thinking, confidentiality, and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to travel between our Buffalo, Rochester, and Schenectady, NY offices on a quarterly basis
  • Ability to travel for attendance at career fairs or other industry events
  • Valid driver's license
