Role Overview

The HVAC Start Up Technician installs, starts up, tests, troubleshoots, and commissions HVAC systems to ensure safe, efficient operation and a smooth customer handoff. This role is performed in customer settings, including indoor and outdoor environments such as attics, basements, confined spaces, and rooftops.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include: start up, test, calibrate, and commission newly installed HVAC equipment and controls; troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control issues using diagnostic tools; document work performed, system settings, repairs, and performance checks accurately; communicate system operation, maintenance needs, and next steps to customers and internal teams.

Required strengths include EPA 608 Certification, 1+ year of HVAC start-up, installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting experience, and working knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, diagnostic tools, and electrical/mechanical/refrigeration principles. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • EPA 608 Certification
  • 1+ year of HVAC start-up, installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting experience
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, diagnostic tools, and electrical/mechanical/refrigeration principles
