HVAC Technician

The HVAC Journeyman Technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and operates various types of HVAC systems in support of mission-critical modernization and sustainment activities for customers at Kirtland AFB. The technician will perform installation, repair, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. The technician will also respond to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoot, and repair as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum education level of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in HVAC systems.
• Current State of New Mexico Journeyman Refrigeration (JR) Certification
• Current Universal EPA Certification.
• Knowledge of various HVAC and controls principles and configurations.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and prepare daily reports.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
• Possess competent and effective computer skills to include using Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Have proficient English oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and customers.
• Be able to read and interpret building diagrams and technical manuals.
• Must be a US citizen and currently possess or be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
• Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.
• Be able to pass a drug screen.
• Be capable of performing work in a field environment requiring full range of motion and movement; be able to perform physical activities including climbing and working at heights greater than 50 feet, crawling, working outdoors, and repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.
