Role OverviewThe Mechanical Plant Design Engineer will support HVDC converter station projects through mechanical plant design, layout development, and technical coordination across project phases. The role will involve working with 3D modelling, 2D drawings, mechanical interfaces, design documentation, and engineering estimates to shape safe, reliable, and efficient converter station solutions.
What You Will Do
Perform mechanical plant design for HVDC converter stations, including 3D modelling and 2D drawings/layouts. Apply established design practices, guidelines, and applicable standards for mechanical plant and electromechanical design. Prepare and maintain drawings, layouts, bills of materials, engineering estimates, and related design documentation.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This is an opportunity to contribute to large-scale HVDC infrastructure projects that support grid reliability, energy transmission, and the continued modernization of the power system. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electromechanical plant design within HVDC or similar infrastructure projects.
Requirements
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline
- Experience in 3D modelling and 2D drafting within mechanical or plant engineering
- Understanding of mechanical and electromechanical plant design within HVDC or similar infrastructure projects
- Experience using CAD/PLM tools for mechanical plant design; NX and Teamcenter experience is an advantage
Benefits
- Competitive health and retirement benefits
- Paid leave and flexible work arrangements
- Access to learning platforms and career development programs
