Job Description
Leidos is seeking a talented Hypersonics Design Engineer to support multiple projects as part of the Advanced Materials Department. The Hypersonics Design Engineer will work alongside other design engineers, structural analysis engineers, program management, and customers to oversee design and analysis of structures and mechanisms related to hypersonic vehicles.

Requirements

  • Design and Drafting – Proficient in industry CAD softwares (CREO, SolidWorks) for both 3D modeling and 2D drawings
  • Tolerancing – Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T, per ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack analysis
  • Design for Manufacturing and Inspection – Understanding of how tolerancing affects part manufacturing and inspection
  • Standards – Familiarity with ASME and ASTM material standards, MIL standards
  • TDPs – Experience contributing to TDPs according to MIL-STD-31000
  • Experience working within a product lifecycle management tool (Windchill)
  • Candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
