Job Description
The American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey (ACLU-NJ) is seeking an Immigrants' Rights Supervising Attorney with eight years of experience. This full-time role is supervised by the Legal Director and based in Newark. The position focuses on protecting and expanding the rights of immigrants, with potential for future growth. The ACLU-NJ values anti-racism and advocates for equitable systems in New Jersey.

Requirements

  • At least eight years of litigation experience (including clerkships)
  • Significant expertise in developing and litigating impact cases with at least five years of federal court experience.
  • Experience with immigrant’s rights and federal habeas litigation.
  • Supervising multiple legal staff members
  • Exceptional oral advocacy skills and communication
  • Experience with creative problem-solving
  • Strong understanding of immigration & racial justice.
  • Knowledge of Spanish (a plus)
  • Admitted to practice in New Jersey
