Job Description
DCAS's mission is to make city government work for all New Yorkers. We are seeking an in-house inspector to work in the Elevator Operations Unit. The duties will include overseeing Department of Buildings and ECB conveyance equipment violations, tracking and maintaining records of Local Law 10/81, managing an emergency conveyance equipment contract, conducting yearly tests of all elevators and escalators, and providing support on Capital equipment improvements or new installations.

Requirements

  • Seven years of full-time satisfactory experience working at a construction trade or working as an inspector of construction, hoists and rigging, plumbing, boilers, or elevators;
  • At least 18 months of experience in a managerial or administrative capacity;
  • A license as a professional engineer or registered architect issued pursuant to the education law;
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above;
