Role Overview

The Industrial Firefighter/EMT trains for and participates in duties and related responsibilities of an emergency and/or hazardous nature in fire suppression and emergency operations in an industrial facility. Operates within the parameters of the client’s policies, procedures, and practices, with special emphasis on the Occupational Safety and Health Program, to functionally participate in all emergency response and training services in order to achieve the mission of Rural Metro Fire.

What You Will Do

Performs routine Safety Specialist work tasks, responds to fires, administers first aid, analyzes situations, and applies the correct treatment. Safely operates vehicles and equipment, maintains fire and rescue apparatus, and keeps the company base and related grounds in a clean and orderly condition.

Requirements

  • Class B- Non CDL license (State of Illinois)
  • IL EMT-Basic
  • CPR/AED
  • IL OSFM Basic Operations Firefighter (BOF) or Fire II (FF II)
  • IL OSFM Hazmat Ops (if FF II only)
  • IL OSFM Rope Ops (within 12 months of hire)
