Role OverviewAs a Maintenance Technician at SPX, you will install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems. You will work on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, and fixtures, and perform tasks such as inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery and mechanical equipment. You will also dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to defective parts, and perform tasks such as measuring, cutting, replacing, repairing, and installing conduit, pipe, or tubing for gas, air, water, ventilation, hydraulic or electric lines, and plumbing.
What You Will Do
Your core responsibilities will include repairing and maintaining HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, and fixtures, inspecting and cleaning machinery and mechanical equipment, and performing tasks such as dismantling machines and equipment, measuring, cutting, replacing, repairing, and installing conduit, pipe, or tubing, and installing or replacing electrical or plumbing equipment, wiring, or fixtures.
Why It Might Be a Fit
We are looking for someone with one to three months of related experience and/or training, and a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience. You should have completed courses at an accredited technical school for Maintenance Electricity, Hydraulics, Pipefitting, Industrial Maintenance Mechanics, and Electric Arc Welding, and be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
