Job Description
The Ohio Department of Health is seeking an Infectious Disease Control Consultant to provide technical assistance and consultation on HIV infection control matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in HIV disease and HIV treatment, conducting audits and site visits, and presenting training or education programs.

Requirements

  • Providing technical assistance and consultation on HIV infection control matters
  • Developing policies and/or protocols and manuals
  • Monitoring providers and/or funded programs for compliance, quality management and evaluation
  • Advising health care personnel and the general public on the spread, treatment and containment of HIV/AIDS and accompanying opportunistic infections
  • Providing updates to HIV CARE Services staff and stakeholders on current treatment standards for HIV/AIDS
  • Maintaining current resource file on HIV/AIDS care and treatment
  • Providing monitoring, consultation and technical assistance to internal and external customers on matters related to HIV/AIDS quality management and improving viral suppression for Ohioans living with HIV
  • Developing guidelines and educational/reference materials as needed
  • Responsible for the development and oversight of clinical quality management activities for Ryan White Part B-funded healthcare providers
  • Presenting and participating in conferences targeting health care workers on care guidelines relating to HIV/AIDS, viral suppression, and quality management
  • Serve as a member of the HCS Quality Improvement Committee and other committees as assigned
  • Act as a liaison with other state agencies providing services to HIV populations
