Infectious Disease Physician

The Infectious Disease Physician is an expert in infectious disease management, responsible for delivering advanced and comprehensive clinical and preventative care to improve community health, patient outcomes, and the quality of life for patients living with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and related infectious diseases.

What You Will Do

The IDP will diagnose, treat, and manage patients with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and co-infections, develop individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and provide interventional care strategies for high-risk patients and complex infectious disease cases.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
• Active and unrestricted medical New York State license
• Board certification in Internal Medicine or Infectious Disease
• AAHIVM HIV Specialist credentials
• DEA registration and controlled substance certification as required
• Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience in HIV, Hepatitis, infectious disease, or related specialty care preferred
• Experience treating HIV/HBV/HCV co-infected patients strongly preferred
• Familiarity with liver disease management and antiviral treatment protocols
• Strong clinical assessment and intervention planning skills
• Knowledge of liver disease progression, antiviral therapies, and infectious disease prevention
• Bedside mannerism, emotionally intelligent, and compassionate
• Excellent communication, patient counseling, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Strong commitment to culturally competent and patient-centered care
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Time management and deadline adherence
