Job Description
Role Overview

The Montana Department of Corrections' Rehabilitation and Programs Division is seeking an Inmate Production Officer to oversee the daily operation of the manufacturing center. The officer will supervise inmate workers, monitor workflow, maintain inventories, and ensure tools, materials, and equipment are used safely and correctly. The officer will also communicate key updates to management and model professionalism and ethical behavior while enforcing all MCE policies.

What You Will Do

The officer will guide inmates through daily production tasks, coordinate with department staff and customers, create and teach production layouts, lead safety and quality training, assist customers with designs/orders/installation/etc., and inspect work throughout the production process to ensure standards are met.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The officer will require strong situational awareness, good physical condition, strong computer skills, and comfort working in a correctional setting with frequent standing and walking, lifting up to 50lbs, moving large items, and use of industrial equipment.

Requirements
