Alera Group is looking for an Inside Sales Executive to join our growing SELECT team based in Raleigh, North Carolina. We are seeking highly motivated colleagues who bring experience and enthusiasm – joining us may be the perfect fit for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Generation & Pipeline Development -10%

  • Manage and convert leads that are referred or assigned, with light personal prospecting as needed.
  • Proactively nurture leads through inbound calls, outbound outreach, and targeted email campaigns.
  • Follow up on leads, unsold quotes, and referrals to maximize conversion opportunities.

 

Consultative Sales & Revenue Growth – 65%

  • Guide prospects through a consultative insurance review process by gathering accurate information and identifying appropriate coverage solutions.
  • Sell based on value -not transactions- while identifying opportunities to upsell when appropriate.
  • Quote, bind, and close new business with a targeted close ratio of 50% or higher.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed sales goals.
  • Ensure seamless handoff to service teams by providing complete and accurate policy information.

 

Client & Carrier Relationship Management -10%

  • Build strong relationships with Alera Group offices, Mid-Market producers, and other internal referral sources to foster trust and ongoing lead flow.
  • Maintain productive partnerships with underwriters, marketing reps, and key contacts across carriers and wholesale brokers.
  • Stay current on evolving products, pricing, and industry trends to better serve clients and partners.

 

Pipeline, Process, & Record Management- 10%

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activity within the CRM, agency management system, and other required tools.
  • Adhere to all established best practices, SOPs (procedures), and compliance standards.
  • Take ownership of decisions, outcomes, and overall client experience.

 

Collaboration & Team Engagement- 5%

  • Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, workshops, company events, and regular pipeline reviews.
  • Build rapport across teams and contribute to a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
  • Embrace change management best practices to stay informed, engaged, and adaptable during organizational transitions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience.
  • Active P&C insurance license (required).
  • Comfortable with phone‑based outreach and client engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional presence with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Client‑centric, consultative sales mindset.
  • Creative problem‑solver with an understanding of underwriting perspectives.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This job must be performed onsite in our Raleigh, North Carolina office.

Base salary range is $65K to $80K per year.

*This role also includes sales commission as part of the overall total earnings.
