Role OverviewThe New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is seeking Institutional Aides in the Health Affairs division at Bellevue Hospital and Various locations. The selected candidates will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, volunteers, and people in custody. They will perform tasks such as garbage disposal, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning equipment.
What You Will Do
The selected candidates will be responsible for tasks such as disposing of garbage, sweeping and mopping assigned areas, cleaning equipment, unloading and storing supplies, following prescribed procedures when using chemical agents, packaging and labeling bio-hazardous waste materials, and performing duties as assigned.
