Role OverviewThe Instructional Aide/Special Needs works under the direct supervision of the assigned teacher and the campus principal to provide instructional support to special education students. The aide will work closely with students to provide physical help, academic assistance, and emotional support to help them progress towards their goals and objectives.
What You Will Do
The aide will assist students with physical tasks, such as putting on and taking off outerwear, moving from room to room, and using the lavatory. The aide will also assist with academic tasks, such as sharpening pencils, carrying lunch trays, and helping students with reading and writing. The aide will work with individual students or groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
